Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO is a 3D fighting game developed by Spike Chunsoft and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment. As the fourth main installment in the Budokai Tenkaichi series, it serves as a sequel to Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 (2007) and marks the series’ return after a 17-year hiatus.

The game features high-speed 3D battles that stay true to the anime, with breathtaking visuals and authentic combat moves like beam clashes, rush attacks, and planet-razing ultimate attacks. Players can choose from a roster of 182 characters, the most expansive in the series’ history, including new additions from Dragon Ball Super and Dragon Ball Daima.

The game also introduces a “Custom” mode, allowing players to create and share their own Dragon Ball fight scenarios online. The “Episode Battles” mode serves as the game’s story mode, following the perspectives of eight playable characters and offering narrative decisions that can lead to different endings.
